Review: Sony Xperia S
Sony is starting fresh after 10 years of marriage with Ericsson, and
thus the Xperia S marks a whole lot of firsts for it. It is the first
handset branded simply “Sony”, as well as the first with the new “Iconic
Identity” design of the renamed Xperia NXT line.
That’s the big picture, but the device itself also consists of elements that have never been in a Sony smartphone, like an HD display, multicore chipset and microSIM card slot.
Most would be satisfied with so many firsts, but not Sony - it also gave the handset a very capable 12MP Exmor R sensor on the back, and hopefully started a trend by shipping it with the generous 32GB of internal memory..............

HTC Headphones: No More Beats Bundled With Future Handsets
Despite the strong branding power of HTC and Beats Audio, HTC does not have any plans to continue backing in Beats headphones with future smartphone handsets. The idea was incorporated with the recent Rezound phone, but apparently HTC realized that hardly swayed anyone to buy the phone. When customers shop for a new smartphone, the included headphones aren’t exactly at the top of the list of priorities.
Cnet quoted HTC product executive Martin Fichter as saying, “An accessory like the headphone doesn’t factor in when someone is buying a smartphone. If they want a Beats headphone, they’ll buy it directly.” It may even sound a bit obvious, but HTC was originally thinking that would be a huge differentiating factor in the increasingly competitive smartphone market. It’s even a factor as to why the company decided to buy a majority stake in the Beats brand...........

Web tool: Mac is Flashback-free, remove the Flashback malware from OS X.
More than half a million Macs are infected with the Flashback Trojan, a malware package designed to steal personal information, according to Russian antivirus company Dr. Web.
More than half of the Macs infected are in the United States (57 percent), while another 20 percent are in Canada, Dr. Web said. The malware was initially found in September 2011 masquerading as a fake Adobe Flash Player plug-in installer, but in the past few months it has evolved to exploiting Java vulnerabilities to target Mac systems. A new variant that surfaced over the weekend appears to be taking advantage of Java vulnerability for which Apple released a patch Tuesday..............

Unexpected things that can help you lose weight
Don't get sucked into the idea that food is your enemy when you're
trying to lose weight. In fact, it's just the opposite: Befriend the
right foods, and the pounds are much more likely to peel off than if you
just try to cut calories across the board. Here, seven foods known to
nutritionists to boost your body's fat-burning potential.
Oats
Wait a minute -- aren't oats a carb? Yes and no. Oats are a whole grain, and they're high on what nutritionists call the "satiety index," meaning oats have tremendous power to make you feel full. Not only that, they're also high in soluble fiber, so they cut cholesterol and blood fat. Oats..............

Terrafugia flying car costs $279000, already has 100 pre-orders
This week at the New York Auto Show a company called Terrafugia will debut a street-legal airplane. A flying car, so to speak.
Called the Transition, the fold-up vehicle will fly 100 miles per hour and has a range of nearly 500 miles. On the road it gets 35 miles per gallon using premium unleaded gasoline. It’s not quite the flying car of Jetsons fame, but it’s the closest thing on the market so far.
“This is what we can do today with existing technology inside the existing regulatory structure that we have and the physical infrastructure with airports and air space,” Terrafugia CEO Carl Dietrich says. “It’s something that actually works.”
US company Terrafugia has variously labeled its Transition model as a “roadable aircraft” and a “street-legal airplane”, perhaps in a quest to............
