Google working on a messaging application to take on iMessage and BBM?

Since the introduction of the mobile phone, text messaging has been the favorite telephony style, with data carriers at least gain 80 percent of profit from every single text message sent. But if smartphones makers follow the trend of free text messaging between similar devices running on the same operating system, the gain surely would be plummeted.

Some reports are suggesting that Google is already working on a BlackBerry massager and iMessage type app for its Android operating system.

Google is working on a messaging application similar to that of the BlackBerry Messenger(BBM) offered by Research In Motion, according to the Wall Street Journal
