Windows 8 Release Preview

With a Chinese version of the Windows 8 Release Preview leaking yesterday, we knew Microsoft was getting close with its latest preview, and now sources have provided us with the actual release date: tomorrow, May 31st. Not only that, but they have also confirmed that the software we'll be seeing will in fact feature Flash bundled into the Metro-based version of Internet Explorer 10.
The information comes on the heels of an accidental leak earlier this afternoon. The Next Web reports that a blog post went live on the Windows Hardware and Driver Developer Blog, written by Microsoft's Chuck Chan. The post touted the new availability of the Windows 8 Release Preview, and while it was timestamped for 3:26PM on May 30th, the text in the post itself actually noted a May 31st release date. Microsoft had.............

Medical care: Healthcare need healing

People trust medical practitioners, believing that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to safeguard their health. But when this knowledge is misused to exploit this trust, medical care becomes a nightmare.
Since time immemorial, we have been using and reading the phrase 'Health is Wealth', but it seems as if the proverb has been misinterpreted by the doctors in India. People's health for them has attained monetary values and in the face of physical illness and distress they see money and seek to gain out of every situation: big and small.
Doctors prescribing unnecessary pathological tests for patients are quite common, but now another dimension of these farce treatments is,............

Do You Really Need a Credit Card?

Lately a lot of consumers have been asking whether they really need to carry a credit card. We tapped two of our favourite credit experts, Bethy Hardeman of CreditKarma.com and John Ulzheimer of SmartCredit.com, to weigh in on the pros and cons of carrying plastic. Do you really need a credit card? Here's what they had to say: Why you need a card
Travel arrangements. "It's hard to travel with cash all the time," said Ulzheimer. Reserving a room a car rental are tough enough with one and.............

Warning: Google warns users of internet shutdown on July 9

Google plans to warn more than half a million users of a computer infection that may knock their computers off the Internet this summer.
Unknown to most of them, their problem began when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of infected computers around the world. In a highly unusual response, the FBI set up a safety net months ago using government computers to prevent Internet disruptions for those infected users. But that system will be shut down July 9 -- killing connections for those people.
The FBI has run an impressive campaign for months, encouraging people to visit a website that will inform them whether they're infected and explain how to fix the problem. After July 9, infected users won't be able to connect to the Internet..............

Mozilla says, Microsoft bans Firefox on ARM-based Windows

Raising the specter of last-generation browser battles, Mozilla launches a publicity campaign to seek a place for browsers besides IE on Windows devices using ARM chips.
Microsoft is giving Internet Explorer an unfair technical advantage in Windows RT (Windows 8 for ARM-based devices) that is the "first step toward a new platform lock-in," according to the Mozilla Foundation. The group behind the open source Firefox browser is complaining that Internet Explorer will be the only browser on Windows RT allowed to run in the traditional desktop environment.
That means IE will be able to integrate with Windows RT in ways that competing browsers can't, giving Microsoft's IE a leg up in terms of speed,..............

App designed to help to finding missing kids

Lockheed Martin shows a Block III GPS satellite orbiting the Earth. The new generation of satellites will improve the accuracy of military and civilian GPS receivers. The Block III is now undergoing testing at the Lockheed Martin plant south of Denver.
The government has published its strategy to identify and support children and adults who go missing. As the plan has acknowledged, children who go missing are at increased risk of sexual exploitation and abuse. They are sometimes running towards harm, even as they may be running away from it. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mitigating the risks they face or preventing the harm they may experience. What is crucial about a missing episode is that it is more often a consequence, symptom or indicator of a problem, rather than a problem itself. If we really want to reduce the likelihood of children going missing, we need a commitment to address what causes them to run away from, or run to, harm.................

Android users targeted for the first time in drive-by download attacks

Android users are now facing another malware twist. A new Android Trojan dubbed "NotCompatible" is being spread through compromised Web sites. Though the threat seems to be minimal at this point, security provider Lookout says this is the first time hacked Web sites are being used to target mobile devices.
Further, Lookout believes the new malware could be used to break into private networks via an infected Android device.
The Trojan works by automatically downloading an application from a compromised site through the Web browser, a process known as a "drive-by download." The mobile device then prompts the user to install the downloaded app. But for the app to actually install, the "Unknown............
