Facebook lifts ban on decapitation videos

Facebook allows anyone aged 13 and above to be a member.
Its terms and conditions now state that it will remove photos or videos that "glorify violence" in addition to other banned material.
Facebook has lifted a ban, implemented in May, that prevented images and videos depicting graphic content such as beheadings and other causalities from being published to the social network. The company is returning to a prior practice of not policing violent content that members share in condemnation of the depicted acts.

Nokia Lumia 1020 gets priced at Rs 49999 in India

Announced last week, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is going to be available from 11 October. While Nokia showed off its new hardware in great detail, the price of the new phone hasn’t been announced yet, although most expect it to be between Rs.46,000 and Rs.50,000. When Apple Inc.  released the iPhone 4s on Oct. 14, 2011, the voice-activated personal assistant known as Siri quickly became the defining feature of the (then) brand-new device. Siri was ubiquitous throughout the world, yet the identity of the person who provided the voice for the application has never been known, until now.

Web firm guarantees that criminals and Washington can't read encrypted emails, online banking and other data are not true, newly disclosed documents indicate.

Google Maps and Waze start swapping data


Google on Tuesday said it began integrating into its online maps features from the Waze traffic app it acquired earlier this year in a deal said to be worth some $1 billion.
"No one likes getting stuck in traffic. That's why the Waze and Google Maps teams are working together to harness the power of Google technology and the passion of the Waze community to make it easier to navigate your daily life," said the tech giant's Brian McClendon in a blog post.
