Soon, it would be possible to grow replacements for virtually any part of the human body. Scientists believe that spare human parts factories could be just years away as they discovered it is possible to grow new organs. They have already grown the bladder, urethra and windpipe,

which have been implanted into patients during clinical trials.

Now scientists have set their sights on replicating more complicated organs, including the heart, kidneys, liver, pancreas and thymus.

The advances could extend life expectancy and cut waiting times for transplants, reported the Sunday Times.

Baidu Yi- A new software platform that will intensify its competition with Google


Baidu launched its own mobile applications platform on Friday and laid out plans to release a mobile operating system based on it in the future, accordingto a report by Reuters. Named Baidu Yi, the apps platform is based on a heavily modified version of Android.

The apps platform launched by the company will allow developers to create applications and games for the company’s upcoming OS, which will be heavily search-centric, as we revealed in March this year. The Chinese search giant also launched a new homepage on the same day that added social networking and other features to its previously spartan interface. Baidu Yi needs to be preinstalled on the mobile phones and this software will let the user’s access Baidu search engine from any applications. That is this software will let the users to search the new words or things that they encounter while reading e-books, messaging and so on. Google has announced that the +1 button is now available on the mobile Web


Google’s +1 button, which enables users to get recommendations and share information with their friends on the web, is now available on Android or iOS-based mobile device.

The +1 button is straightforwardly integrated with the internet search giant Google’s social networking platform Google+ and the user can display something displayed publicly across the Web with just a click of the button.

Google+ Games and Mobile’s lead product manager Punit Soni said that the availability of the +1 button on Android 2.1+ and iOS 4.0+ browsers should help users make recommendations on the web even while on the go.

Do Stressed Dads Pass On Stress To Their Unborn Children


Does Dad’s stress affect his unborn children? A new study in Elsevier’s Biological Psychiatry, seems to suggest the answer, “Yes, but it’s complicated”.

Most work to date has focused on maternal effects on unborn child. However, a new study has investigated paternal effects, and found that fathers exposed to chronic stress passed those stress behaviors to their offspring.

Tracing the paternal transmission of stress, the study suggested that the switch might be possible, but the process is very complicated.

Eat potatoes to lower blood pressure without weight gain


Scientists have found that just a couple servings of potatoes a day reduces blood pressure almost as much as oatmeal without causing weight gain.

Although researchers used purple potatoes, they believe that redskin potatoes and white potatoes may have similar effects.

“The potato, more than perhaps any other vegetable, has an undeserved bad reputation that has led many health-conscious people to ban them from their diet,” said Joe Vinson, Ph.D., from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania who headed the research.

Kids of older parents face risk of autism
