Fly Mobile to Launch For Android Phones


The upcoming Android handsets of Fly Mobile will focus on video streaming and music playback, and are likely to be in the price range of Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000.

Android is growing in popularity in India and if you had any doubts about it all you have to do is take a look at the growth of Android handsets in the local markets. Spice and Micromax have both released a Android handset and now Fly is joining the race.

Fly Mobile, the handset brand of UK based Meridian Group, will launch four Android phones in India by October.

Prem Kumar, chief executive officer of Fly Mobile, said to "The Mobile Indian", "In third quarter of the current financial year we will be launching four Android phones in the price range of Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000."

"The handsets will work on Android 2.2 version and depending on the model they will have three to five mega pixel cameras," he added.

On applications, Kumar said, "Fly Mobile is strengthening its app ecosystem and is in the process of launching its app store, which will be India centric. Consumers will be able to experience our store by the third quarter this year."

The upcoming Android handsets from Fly Mobile will focus on video streaming and music playback.

The company will also increase its service centres from the current 384 to 450 in the following two months.

Fly has a range of handsets with features such as dual band and dual SIM, 2.4 inch TFT display, 2.5 mm audio jack, stereo FM with schedule recording, FM alarm, lyrics display, embedded games and the capacity to store 1,000 SMSs and 2,000 phone book entries.
