Researchers discovered: Virus Treasure Trove Found In Sewage


Here’s a posting from the “ick” files. Scientsts are now delving into an uncharted environment to study human and other viruses: raw sewage.

Viruses are tiny microorganisms and found everywhere in the environment. Experts claim that humans are excessively exposed to these biological organisms through surfaces, food or even water. Till now, there are not less than 1.8 million species of living organisms in ecosystem that serve as a host to a number of viruses. Majority of these viruses are still unidentified, says a recent study.
